Development and assessment of cost-benefit parameters of Solar Pv Powered Paddy Thresher

This paper deals with the development, technical and financial analysis of a locally available small size solar photovoltaic DC powered paddy thresher. The threshing machine was developed at Workshop Machinery Maintenance (WMM) divisional Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur, during 2021. Locally materials 1 hp motor were used to develop technology. thresher tested reduce dependency on diesel electricity driven threshers in agriculture Bangladesh. performance evaluated average moisture content as 17.56% (w.b.). Resulted outputs research indicated that capacity 217 kg/h efficiency 96.04% when drum speed 475 rpm. operational cost per kilogram threshed for SOPT, MODT PT BDT 337, 364 372 respectively. However, SOPT more economically viable compared terms marginal benefit-cost ratio (1.91) payback period (1.52). break-even use operation estimated 40.20 hr.
